Rob Kligman has been named the chief revenue officer at Anthem Sports Group.
The longtime sports media executive has been hired to drive revenue across multiple areas of the global media company’s business from sales to sponsorships. He specifically will also oversee strategic partnerships for Anthem’s TNA Wrestling, one of the top wrestling promotions, and Invicta Fighting Championships, an all-female mixed martial arts promotion.
Kligman will report to Anthem Sports Group president Anthony Cicione.
He joins Anthem Sports & Entertainment after serving as vice president of marketing operations and sales at G Fuel. Prior to that, he spent eight years at WWE where he was vice president of global digital and integrated sponsorship sales. That experience has prepared him to lead business growth objectives for TNA Wrestling and Invicta FC, where he looks to boost various revenue streams including PPV events, merchandise and social media.
Kligman, who also has held executive roles at USA Today and Time Inc., arrives at a time of momentum for TNA Wrestling and Invicta FC. TNA, formerly known as Impact Wrestling, returned to its original name this year. The rebrand went into effect in January with the Hard to Kill PPV event near Las Vegas in January. Kligman will help drive anticipation for the TNA’s annual Slammiversary summer event in Montreal on July 20.
Invicta meanwhile recently inked a new media agreement with CBS Sports which calls for the network to have rights to broadcast Invicta events for the rest of the year, starting with Invicta FC 55 on June 28 which features a fight between Brazilian bantamweight Talita Bernardo and Olga Rubin.
