Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is joining The CW Network’s Inside the NFL as an analyst, the league announced in a news release Thursday.
Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach with the Patriots, will be joined by former NFL stars Chad Johnson, Chris Long, who each played for Belichick, and Ryan Clark for the show’s 48th season and second on The CW. Inside the NFL kicks off Aug. 30 and will air weekly on Friday nights throughout the NFL season.

The 72-year-old Belichick coached the Patriots for 24 seasons before the two sides parted ways in January following a 4-13 season.
“I’ve always appreciated Inside the NFL’s depth of analysis, and I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros—Ryan, Chris and Chad this coming season,” Belichick said in a statement.
The series is produced by NFL Films. Ross Ketover, Keith Cossrow, Ken Rodgers and Jessica Boddy are executive producers.
Belichick, who did not secure a new NFL coaching gig after splitting with New England, was recruited by Peyton Manning to join his company Omaha Productions. According to The Athletic, the longtime NFL coach also met with CBS and NBC. In May, Manning said on The Pat McAfee Show that Belichick would be a permanent guest on the ManningCast, which airs on ESPN2 during Monday Night Football.
