LSU guard and Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year Mikaylah Williams signed an NIL deal with Jordan Brand, the company announced in an Instagram post Friday afternoon.
She is the second women’s college basketball player to ink an NIL deal with Jordan Brand, joining UCLA guard Kiki Rice. Full details of the partnership were not disclosed, according to On3. LSU has an apparel partnership with Nike, which owns Jordan Brand, but its jerseys feature the swoosh logo. Jordan has apparel deals with schools like UNC, Michigan and Houston that feature its Jumpman logo.
“Signing with Jordan Brand allows me to inspire young girls and contribute to the growth of women’s basketball,” Williams said in a statement.
Jordan Brand also has an NIL deal with Rutgers commit Kiyomi McMiller, who became the first high school player to sign with the brand.
Williams was one of the top recruits in the class of 2023 heading into college and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team earlier in March. She started all but one of LSU’s games this year and averaged 14.4 points per game on 47.2% shooting from the field.
She has also scored 20 or more points in seven games and had a season-high 42 points against Kent State.
No. 3 LSU is the defending NCAA champion and plays its March Madness opener against No. 14 Rice on Friday afternoon. The Tigers are playing in Albany Regional 2 alongside other top seeds No. 1 Iowa and No. 2 UCLA.
