Athlete rights commercialization company OneTeam Partners has added former Netflix and Dreamworks executive Bruce Daitch to its board of directors, bringing modern media expertise to the group.
At Netflix for three years, Daitch served as VP of animation, leading global production strategy. Before that, he spent more than 20 years at DreamWorks Animation including stints as COO and CFO. He also serves on the NFL Players Inc. board of directors.
OneTeam is a joint venture between the NFLPA, MLBPA, WNBPA, MLSPA and USWNTPA, with backing from multiple financial firms who see a larger opportunity for players groups to generate revenue from athlete names, images and likenesses. In addition to the owning groups, OneTeam represents rights for the NWSL Players Association, U.S. Rugby Players Association, League of Legends Championship Series and Valorant Players Associations, as well as many college athletes. It has identified five areas of focus: gaming, consumer products, sponsorship, marketing and media.
“Having relied on Bruce’s counsel over the years, I can attest to the tremendous advantages he brings,” OneTeam Partners CEO Sean Sansiveri said in a statement (he previously served as head of business affairs for NFL Players Inc.). “Bruce’s understanding of media, content creation and licensing will enhance our strategic vision and greatly benefit our players associations and partners.”
On the OneTeam board, Daitch joins NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell, MLBPA executive director Tony Clark, USWNTPA executive director Becca Roux, WNBPA executive director Terri Jackson, MLSPA executive director Bob Foose, MLBPA COO Xavier James, NFL Players Inc. president Matt Curtin, MLBPA SVP Shawn McDonald, HPS managing director Scott French and Aligned Climate Capital chief investment officer Jamie Rubin.
“I look forward to contributing to the success of this dynamic group, collaborating with our visionary board members, and supporting OneTeam’s leadership and partners in maximizing the potential value of athletes and representing them with vigor,” Daitch said in a statement. “Together, we will advance the impactful, athlete-centric initiatives OneTeam is renowned for in both professional and collegiate sports.”
