Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson and 2024 NBA Hall of Fame inductee-to-be Vince Carter will be the cover athletes for NBA 2K25 video games, 2K announced Wednesday.
Tatum and Wilson will become the first NBA and WNBA athletes to share a global cover and will be featured together on the game’s all-star edition. In addition to their shared cover, Tatum and Wilson are also featured solo on additional 2K25 editions.
The cover of the game’s Hall of Fame edition features Carter doing a between-the-legs dunk from his Toronto Raptor days. Carter will formally be enshrined in October.
The game is available for pre-order now and launches on Sept. 6.
Tatum’s image on the standard edition features him wearing a home white uniform and the new Amica Mutual Insurance jersey patch on the left shoulder. The Celtics, whose ownership group is exploring a sale of the 18-time champions, announced a multiyear partnership with Amica Mutual on Tuesday.
Like Tatum, Wilson’s Aces are coming off a league title, and her WNBA edition cover image shows her hoisting the WNBA championship trophy in 2023.
Wilson isn’t the first woman featured on an NBA 2K cover. She joins New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu (2024), Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi and former Seattle Storm guard Sue Bird (who shared a 2023 cover) and former Chicago Sky forward Candace Parker (2021).
The standard edition of the game costs $70 for consoles and PC, and $60 for the Nintendo Switch. The WNBA edition is a GameStop exclusive and only available in North America; it costs $70. The all-star edition, which comes with various in-game perks, costs $100.
The Hall of Fame edition, which costs $150, is available for pre-order now and will be available for purchase for two days until Sept. 8.
NBA 2K is owned and published by Take-Two Interactive Software (NASDAQ: TTWO), which co-owns the NBA 2K League with the NBA.
